Parede Residential housing

In the area of Rehabilitation, a single-family dwelling is under construction in the municipality of Cascais. A pre-existing 20th-century building and an example of summer architecture typical of the area, it is currently located in a consolidated urban area.

The proposal presented aimed to restore the existing building in order to return it to its original layout and harmony, which had been disrupted by changes in use over time.

The solution found restores the use, removes annexes built after the main building, consolidates the structure and restores part of the currently damaged decorative elements of the façades.

The façade of the building has two materials. The base stands out for its stone cladding, and the rest of the area for its painted plaster cladding.

The housing programme comprises 4 floors: 3 suites, 3 bedrooms, 4 living rooms, 2 offices, kitchen, lounge, bar, laundry room, storage room and sanitary facilities. The design of the outdoor space was based on an English garden solution, as it is thought to be part of the original project.
