In downtown Luanda, a complex of buildings was designed to house the headquarters of the Angolan Industrial Development Institute (IDIA), office space, technical facilities and a car park.
Based on an existing building, where it was decided to keep the façades as they represent its identity and history, the idea proposes the construction of three new buildings. The project was designed for phased construction, with the headquarters building being the first to be built.
The main access to the buildings is from a void created by the new construction in relation to the existing one, creating a gallery-shaped atrium space. In the case of the two office buildings, the interior is marked by a vertically hollow central space surrounded by spaces organised by removable glass panels that allow for the physical and visual union of the entire building. The third building is a car silo.
